People in Glazing Society – or PIGS – was set up in 2004 as a way of Editors for the glass and glazing press to mingle with event organisers, public relations professionals and marketing personnel.
Since those early days it has grown in popularity, and attendees now regularly include manufacturers and suppliers from all industry sectors.
Designed to place the emphasis on face-to-face contact, in an age where ‘friends’ are counted by the number of online connections we have.
It proves that people do still need and want to meet up, chat and socialise – and perhaps do a bit of business – in a relaxed, social environment.
Traditionally PIGS has been a free-to-attend event taking place in various watering holes around the country, funded purely by donations to the bar from different sponsors.
Not a company, it does not make a profit and its existence relies solely on the fact that the industry supports it.
The next event has been booked for 25 September at the Slug and Lettuce, Lisle Street, just off Leicester Square in London. Anyone working or affiliated to the glazing industry is welcome. FREE tickets are available. See here for full details about the PIGS come to town and how to book.
